The Roman Catholic Diocese of Coimbra ( Latin Dioecesis Conimbricensis , Portuguese Diocese de Coimbra ) is one in Portugal situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Coimbra .

history

The diocese of Coimbra was established in the 6th century. On August 24, 1938, the Diocese of Coimbra gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Aveiro . The diocese of Coimbra is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Braga as a suffragan .
