The Roman Catholic Diocese of Angra ( Latin Dioecesis Angrensis , Portuguese Diocese de Angra ) is in Portugal situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Angra do Heroismo . It covers the entire Azores .

history

The diocese of Angra was on November 3, 1534 by Pope Paul III. established with the Apostolic Constitution Aequum reputamus from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Funchal and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On July 3, 1551, the diocese of Angra was subordinated to the Patriarchate of Lisbon as a suffragan.
