The Diocese of Guarda ( Latin Dioecesis Aegitaniensis , Portuguese Diocese de Guarda ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church based in Guarda, Portugal . The diocese belongs to the ecclesiastical province of the Patriarchate of Lisbon and has existed since the 6th century.

On December 2, 2013 Luis Miguel Mendes, former Vice Chancellor of was Seminary of Fundão in the diocese of Guarda, because sexual abuse of six young people sentenced to ten years' imprisonment in 19 cases. Mendes accepted the sentence immediately after the sentence was pronounced.
