The Roman Catholic Diocese of Leiria-Fátima ( Latin Dioecesis Leiriensis-Fatimensis , Portuguese Diocese de Leiria-Fátima ) is in Portugal situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Leiria .
history
The diocese of Leiria-Fátima was on January 17, 1918 by Pope Benedict XV. with the Apostolic Constitution Quo vehementius re-established as the diocese of Leiria , after it had already existed from 1545 to 1881, and subordinated to the Patriarchate of Lisbon as a suffragan diocese. On May 13, 1984, the diocese of Leiria was renamed by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Qua pietate in the diocese of Leiria-Fátima .
