Völker has been working as a volleyball coach since the end of his active career. In the 2016/17 season he was head coach of the second women's team at Köpenicker SC in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the two seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19 Völker trained the second division women from VC Printus Offenburg . In both seasons he won the championship with his team, but the club did not apply for a first division license.
