2nd German Volleyball Bundesliga 2015/16 (women)

The 2015/16 season of the 2nd women's volleyball division was the fortieth edition of this competition. It started on September 19, 2015 and ended on April 2, 2016.

2nd Bundesliga North

Teams

This season the following thirteen teams played in the women's 2nd Bundesliga North:

Champion of the 2014/15 season was VfL Oythe. For financial reasons, TSV Rudow Berlin transferred its playing rights to Köpenicker SC, which competed with its second team in the division. For financial and personal reasons, the SG Marmagen-Nettersheim withdrew to the third division. Newcomers to the second highest German division were TV Eiche Horn Bremen, SV Blau-Weiß Dingden and RuderClub Sorpesee. As in the previous year, the Schweriner SC II support team started with special gaming rights as VCO Schwerin.

From the 2013/14 season, a new point rule applies to the DVV's game operations: for a 3-0 or 3-1 win there are three points, for a 3-2 win two points, for a 2: 3- Loss one point and no point for a 1-3 or 3-0 defeat. In the event of a tie, the number of games won first decides, then the set quotient (division method) and finally the ball point quotient (division method).

TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen became champions. Both the West Germans and runner-up VfL Oythe did without promotion. The bottom of the table TV Eiche Horn Bremen was relegated to the third division. Since there was no promoter from the lower classes, the rowing club Sorpesee remained in the 2nd volleyball league.

Most Valuable Player

Casey Hinger was honored by VfL Oythe as Most Valuable Player (MVP) . Second place in this honor was Pia Walkenhorst from the Skurios Volleys Borken , third Lynn Braakhuis also from Borken.

2nd Bundesliga South

Teams

This season the following thirteen teams played in the women's 2nd Bundesliga South:

The 2013/14 season champion NawaRo Straubing was able to defend his title and exercised his right to promotion after the 2014/15 season . The volleys from Chemnitz had to go into the third division . Newcomers to the second highest German division were VC Neuwied and the DJK Sportbund München-Ost. VCO Dresden also had special rights to play.

Champion became the VC Offenburg, which waived his right of promotion. The second-placed SWE volley team took advantage of this.
