The SV Blau-Weiß Dingden 1920 eV is a sports club from the Dingden district of the city of Hamminkeln in the Wesel district . The club was founded in 1920 as a sports club and is known for its first women's volleyball team, which plays in the 2nd Bundesliga North .

history
Annette Schmitz founded the women's volleyball department around 1972. At that time the venue was the main school sports hall of the Kreuzschule in Dingden. While the 1st men's team was relegated from the district league in 1983 and disbanded a few years later, the 1st women's team was promoted to the regional league. With the promotion, due to the volleyball statutes, it was no longer possible to play in Dingden, but the team had to move to the larger sports hall in Hamminkeln 6 km away. Initially only with 50 supporting fans, the number of viewers grew with every climb every 1–2 years from 150 to 200 to 300 to 400 fans. With the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1988, the new hall in Dingden was not yet finished. So the team now had to move to Bocholt because the hall in Hamminkeln was now too small according to the regulations. It was not until the middle of the 1988/89 season that the first women's team was able to play again at home in Dingden, sometimes in front of a record crowd of around 1,200 visitors, which was already at the first Bundesliga level. After two years, the team was relegated to the then regional league. In 2015 he was promoted to the second highest women's volleyball division. The women's volleyball team has not only advanced to become the most successful team in the club, but has also become the most successful women's sports team in the Wesel region and in the entire region of the Lower Rhine and western Westphalia.

The volleyball department has been headed by Johannes Dickmann since 1999/2000. Particular emphasis is placed on promoting young people. A good 80% of all players in the second division teams came from their own youth.

2. Women's team
For the first time in 2018, the 2nd women's team was promoted to the league as champions of the association league, the fifth-highest German division. The different age groups have often participated in the West German state championships = NRW championships. From 1983 until today, the youth teams were 18 times West German state champions (state champions NRW) and 25 times vice state champions. This gave 43 qualifications for participation in German championships. The best placings at the German championships were four times third places in the U14 age group (formerly D-youth) in 1986, 1987, 2007 and 2014. In 2017, a seventh place was achieved in the age group U18 (formerly B-youth).

Katrin Kappmeyer was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the 2017/18 season of the 2nd Bundesliga North by the opposing coaches
"Like mothers, like daughters". In the 2017/18 season, Inga van Gemmeren and Maike Schmitz, the daughters of Ingrid van Gemmeren and Stefanie Schmitz from the former second division team of the 1990s, play in the second division women's team.
The players also like to refer to themselves as players from the "volleyball village".
Highlights
- From 1989 to 1997, Dingden was the state volleyball performance center of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia among female youth with the support center coach Michael Kindermann.
- Due to the great success of the volleyball department, a women's friendly international match between Cuba and North Korea was organized in Bocholt in 1989 in front of a good 1,100 spectators.

- Born in Oberhausen, Esther Stahl moved to SV Blau-Weiß Dingden in 2003.
