Bundesliga
The club, which played in the district class in 1993, managed to move up from the second division south to the first division in the 2006/07 season. In the first season in the Bundesliga, the newcomer only managed one win against USC Münster . However, the team benefited from the fact that there was no relegation and remained first class despite being last in the table. In the 2008/09 season, the team was able to establish itself athletically in the first division and only just missed the single-digit place in the table. After the league was just managed with 13th place in 2009/10, after a 14th place in 2010/11 they had to relegate to the 2nd Bundesliga.
DVV Cup
In the 2006/07 season Sonthofen was defeated as a second division team in the round of 16 to the eventual finalists Dresdner SC . In the last sixteen of the 2007/08 season, the promoted team lost in the same round at Köpenicker SC . In the round of 16 in 2008/09, the women from the Allgäu defeated the newly promoted Alemannia Aachen 3-1, but then lost in the quarter-finals in Hamburg. In the 2009/10 season, the Allgäu women went through a pre-qualification against new league rivals SV Lohhof and the second round against Allianz Stuttgart II to the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup against VfB Suhl , where they lost 3-0. In 2010/11, after victories over USC Münster and Alemannia Aachen in the semifinals, they were eliminated again against VfB Suhl .
More teams
The second women's team achieved their third promotion in a row in the 2008/09 season and is now playing in the Bayernliga. In the 2008/09 season, all women's teams (which consist exclusively of youth players) made the promotion. All youth teams qualified for the South Bavarian championships, four teams (A, B, C & D youth) for the Bavarian and for participation in the German championships in 2009. The task for the women's teams is to establish themselves in the 2009/10 season, with the 2. Women's team reached the autumn championship of the Bayernliga.
