The Mohr in the shirt is an Austrian dessert . It consists mainly of chocolate, butter, breadcrumbs (breadcrumbs), sugar, egg yolks, grated almonds or walnuts and red wine and is shaped like a small bundt cake . Like the English Christmas pudding , the black shirt is poached in a water bath . It is then doused with hot chocolate sauce and whipped cream garnished. Occasionally, the dessert served with ice is referred to as an ice cream ear in a shirt . You can get the Mohr in a shirt in Austrian coffee houses and restaurants as well as occasionally in Bavarian confectionery shops. The expression in the shirt refers to the (white) whipped cream that wraps the chocolate cake.

Controversy over the name

For a number of years, discussions have arisen over and over again about whether the term `` Mohr '' in the shirt should be replaced (e.g. with chocolate cake with whipped cream , chocolate or cocoa cake ). Proponents of renaming argue that the term Mohr is discriminatory for historical reasons . Defenders of the traditional naming oppose that Mohr is an outdated term that is used almost exclusively in art ( Othello ), idioms ( The Mohr has done his duty, the Mohr can go. ), Historical or, as here, as part of old names ( Mohrenapotheke ) is used.
