Club history

The gymnastics community was founded on May 23, 1875 under the leadership of Heinrich Zahn. To mark its tenth anniversary, there was a foundation festival in 1885. The entry in the register of associations of the Höchst District Court took place in 1902. In 1906 and 1907 the football and fistball departments were created. The sporting activities were discontinued from 1914 to 1919 due to the First World War . In the following year, sport was resumed, and youth work became particularly important. There was a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the association. In 1926, the swimmers founded their own division. The following year, training began in the new swimming pool in Altenhaimer Tal. In 1929 the handball department was founded. Two years later the football club 08 joined the TG Bad Soden. In 1933, the sports club was forcibly incorporated into the Nationalist Reichsbund for Physical Exercise and dissolved by the Allies at the end of the war in 1945 . Only a soccer and a handball department were allowed to remain as a sports community. A year later a gymnastics division was created, which left the SG in 1952 and became the Bad Soden gymnastics community on May 27, which Heinrich Boch brought back to life. On January 31 of the following year the sports club had 150 members. In 1958 the marching band and bowling were added as new branches, and in 1960 housewife gymnastics was offered. Four years later there were first activities in athletics, so the sports club hosted the city championships and took over the organization of the acceptance of the sports badge. In the following year, parents were able to register their offspring for small children's gymnastics in the TG for the first time. In 1972 the volleyball players founded their department. Two years later, a badminton division was created and the handball players moved from the SG back to the gymnastics community. In the year of the club's centenary, the number of members rose to 749. In 1983 the LG Bad Soden / Neuenhain was established, an amalgamation of the athletes of the TG Bad Soden and the gymnastics and sports community Neuenhain. TSG Sulzbach was later added as a sponsoring association. Since 1999 walking has been offered as a further sport in the TG Bad Soden. In 2003 inline hockey players founded a club which merged with the TG three years later and has since acted as a separate department in the gymnastics community.
