The volleyball club Grimma e. V. (short: VV Grimma and VVG ) is a volleyball club from Grimma in Saxony .

With the promotion of the women's volleyball team of Hohnstädter SV to the 2nd Bundesliga , VC Muldental Grimma was founded in 2004. The team was transferred to its own club in order not to expose the other sections of the Hohnstädter SV to any financial risk. In 2005 the women's team was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . When the sporting success failed to materialize and the team was relegated, this led to bankruptcy. In order to maintain the higher-class volleyball sport in Grimma, the Grimma volleyball club was founded on June 12, 2006. The existing structures and members were largely taken over into the new association. Since the 2006/07 season the 1st women's team of the VVG has played in the 2nd Bundesliga (South Season). The 2011/12 season ended with the greatest success so far in the club's young history, as the season winner ahead of the favorites from Erfurt and Sonthofen, who were relegated from the first division. The title could be defended during the 2012/13 season in front of SV Lohhof and Allgäu Team Sonthofen. The right to promotion to the 1st Bundesliga was waived again due to a lack of financial resources and the lack of structures for professional operations.
