The 1998/99 season of the 2nd women's volleyball division was the twenty-third edition of this competition.

2nd Bundesliga North

TV Fischbek Hamburg became champions and promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . The GfL Hannover had to relegate.

SSV Ulm became champions and promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . The runner-up, the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg, also rose. TV Creglingen II, TSG Mainz-Bretzenheim, LAF Sinzig and TSG Tübingen had to relegate. The TV Dingolfing withdrew.
