The Fischbek gymnastics club from 1921 e. V. is a sports club from the south of Hamburg . The handball section has over 400 members, the largest and most active segment of the society. She has won numerous championship titles to Fischbek in the past. Several Bundesliga players have emerged from this department in recent years. The second largest division of the TVF is made up of tennis players, who have six courts at the clubhouse on Ohrnsweg. Another flagship of the club were the volleyball women, who played in the Bundesliga under the name VT Aurubis Hamburg (until 2009 NA. Hamburg ) until 2016 . The athletics starting association with the HNT took part in competitions under the name LG HNF until 2015. LG HNF was dissolved on December 31, 2015. Other departments offer aerobics , badminton , boxing , basketball , fitness and funky dance, fitness studios, recreational sports , health sports , gymnastics , athletics , chess , tennis , table tennis , gymnastics and walking . TV Fischbek became known in the 1970s when it was the first nationwide sports club to establish an exercise kindergarten. The TVF is still the sponsor of several kindergarten groups.

Men's team

The first men's team of TV Fischbek plays in the Oberliga Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein. The team is trained by the former selection player Marius Kabuse, who took over the team in 2018. Thorsten Siemens acts as co-trainer. After the men had reached the top Hamburg league with an experienced team in 2005, restructuring began for the only Süderelbe team in the major league. Fischbek had successful junior teams that even played in the NOHV regional league. In 2014 he was promoted to the Hamburg - Schleswig-Holstein league . After the descent in 2015, the direct rise again succeeded in 2016. Fischbek was relegated again in 2017 and played in Hamburg's top division until 2019. In the 2018/2019 season, Fischbek won the Hamburg championship and was once again promoted to the Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein Oberliga.

History of women's volleyball

1./2. Bundesliga

The Hamburg women have played in the second Bundesliga since 1991 and were promoted to the first Bundesliga for the first time in 1997. After two relegations and direct re-ascents, they played permanently in the upper house since 2001, until 2003 as Phoenix Hamburg , from 2006 to February 2009 as NA. Hamburg and then until 2016 as VT Aurubis Hamburg . They achieved their best placement in 2003 as third. In the 2006/07 season they finished fifth in the final round of the championship. A year later, they finished seventh and then sixth. In 2012 and 2013 Hamburg reached the quarter-finals of the play-offs, where they were eliminated against USC Münster and the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg . In 2013/14 they remained without a win and were bottom of the table, in 2014/15 they finished ninth after the main round. Since 2016, the women have played as a volleyball team in Hamburg in the second Bundesliga North. On July 1, 2018, the Bundesliga license was transferred to the neighboring club Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft (HNT). The volleyball department of TV Fischbek played until June 30, 2019 with the Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft in the “Volleyball Community Hausbruch-Neugraben-Fischbek” (VG HNF).

DVV Cup

In 2002, the Hamburg women reached the final in the DVV Cup and lost 3-0 to Dresdner SC . Two years later they were in the final again and only had to admit defeat to USC Münster in the tiebreaker. Against the same opponent they were eliminated in the quarterfinals 2004/05. In the following three years they always met VfB 91 Suhl . After two 2: 3 defeats in the quarter-finals in 2005/06 and in the second round in 2006/07, the duel took place in the final in the Gerry Weber Stadium in 2008 . NA missed with a 3-1 defeat. Hamburg won the first title again. 2009 reached NA. Hamburg the semi-finals, in which they were defeated by the Red Ravens Vilsbiburg .

European Cup

When they first took part at European level, the Hamburg women reached the semi-finals at the Challenge Cup 2012/13 after victories over Spodnja Savinjska Šempeter (Slovenia), ZOK Rijeka (Croatia), Hapoel Kfar Saba (Israel) and CSM Bucharest (Romania) knocked out against Rebecchi Piacenza from Italy. In the Challenge Cup 2013/14 they were eliminated in the third round against OK Poreč from Croatia in the golden set.
