Walking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Walking ( English for Go 's) is the common name for the popular sport variant of the competition-oriented sport going . In the leisure sport of walking, a higher speed is sought than in natural walking or hiking . Among other things, an active arm swing is used for this.

A more recent variant is Nordic Walking , in which - based on the model of cross-country skiing - sticks with hand straps are used for a more balanced strain on the body, especially the shoulder and upper arm muscles.
