history

26 mostly young founding members made a virtue out of their misery in 1899: They loved doing gymnastics, but were tired of the long walk to the nearest gymnastics club in Schwachhausen . So the gymnastics club Eiche Horn was founded with two weekly gymnastic evenings - in the adjoining room of a restaurant. It was not until 1929 that the Horner Heerstraße school gymnasium could be used as an appropriate sports facility (together with other clubs); other school sports halls were added from 1960.

The range of sports practiced was quickly expanded beyond gymnastics. Some examples: athletics 1910, soccer 1920, table tennis 1948, volleyball 1961, dance sport 1969, tennis 1974, judo 1975, rehab sport 1975, badminton 1985, basketball 1991, floorball / floorball 1993 and fitness 1995. Initially the sport was only intended for men, but already in 1902 a youth department was founded. Women and girls were admitted from 1919. You are now the majority in the club.
