The Unihockey Igels Dresden is a German floorball team from Dresden in Saxony . In the 2017/18 season, the first men's team will play in the 2nd Floorball Bundesliga and the second men's team in the Association League East. A U17, U15, U13 and U11 team also take part in the game.
history
A school AG of the 128th middle school, which existed since 1996, was followed by the establishment of a department at the Dresden school sports club in 1999 . One year later, it already had 74 members. In the years that followed, the club took part in games with a few youth teams in particular.
In 2004, the Unihockey Igels Dresden was founded as the first Dresden floorball club to be able to set up larger projects independently.
In 2005/06 the hedgehogs played in the 2nd Bundesliga . In that season, their first men's home game took place in front of 250 spectators in the multi-purpose hall on Bodenbacher Strasse . In 2006/07 the hedgehogs started with a women's team in the women's Bundesliga . In 2008 the U17 became German champions.
In 2009 the women's Bundesliga team left the club and joined the SSV Heidenau as a department . By the end of 2011, however, there was a large increase and again exceeded the 100-member limit. After they failed in the promotion relegation in 2008/09 , the men were able to secure the title of second division champions two years later as champions of the south-east season and after the victories against TV Lilienthal and UHC Döbeln 06 . In the promotion relegation , the hedgehogs then rose to the 1st Bundesliga after a 5: 8 and 8: 2 against SC DHfK Leipzig .
In addition to the first year in the Bundesliga , you could qualify for the final4 in Hamburg . There they lost in the semifinals against the eventual cup winner UHC Sparkasse Weißenfels . In terms of sport, the hedgehogs stayed in the Bundesliga until the 2014/15 season , although they never got a place above the play-downs. However, the club withdrew after the play-downs and thus rose again to the 2nd Bundesliga. The direct rise failed in the play-offs in the semifinals against TV Eiche Horn Bremen with 11: 7, 4: 7 and 3: 6.
