The FC Rennsteig Avalanche eV is a German floorball club based in the small town of Neuhaus am Rennweg in the district of Sonneberg in Thuringia .

history

The association was founded in November 2014. As a participant in the Regionalliga Ost , the club registered for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the 2016/17 season . There he met SG Ingolstadt / Nordheim and FC Stern Munich . At the end of the round, the team placed second with 3 points and was thus able to move up to the second division for the first time next season.

In the 2017/18 season , the club then competed in the South-East season. With 27 points, the second place could be taken directly, so the team qualified for the playoffs. There they were then defeated in the semifinals by TV Eiche Horn Bremen 3: 4 a.s., 5: 7 and 6: 4. In the two following seasons, the team was then able to stay in midfield, which means that the club still plays in the second division today.

In the cup in the 2018/19 season, from the second round of Group South , the team was the first to face the regional league club SV Espenau Rangers, who won 8:21 (2: 3, 1:10, 5: 8). In the third round they met SSF Dragons Bonn against which they finally ended after a 17: 7 defeat (4: 0, 7: 5, 6: 2). In the 2019/20 season, the club entered the competition for the first round this time. After a 5: 9 win (3: 4, 1: 3, 1: 2) at TSV Griedel , it was again against the Sportfreunde from Bonn, who meanwhile played in the first division after a 17: 5 defeat (8: 0 , 3: 3, 6: 2) reached the end of the game round for FC.
