The BSV Roxel eV is a German sports club founded in 1958 , with headquarters in the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Münster . The floorball team currently plays in the 2nd Bundesliga .

history

Floorball

As the winner of the Regionalliga North / West of the 2016/17 season , the BSV registered for the promotion relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga . With the withdrawal of the Marburger Elche , the planned game was canceled and the BSV was allowed to advance without a playoff. In the first season , the team was able to position itself in seventh place with 13 points. However, since there were no relegated teams in the North-West season this season, it was never in danger. In the following season , the relegation succeeded again, but this time due to two relegation places more important. With 15 points, however, this was also achieved by a large margin, as the Gettorf Seahawks and Hannover 96 withdrew their team for the next season. The 2019/20 season was canceled prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic . At that time, Roxel did not get a single win out of 12 games and would therefore have had to go into relegation. Due to the new division, however, there were no relegations.

The soccer team played in the 2002/03 season in the district league A and finished seventh in the table with 39 points. With 88 points, the championship succeeded here after the 2004/05 season, with which the team was allowed to move up to the district league. In the very first season they placed fourth with 49 points. With 73 points, the championship succeeded here after the 2006/07 season, which meant promotion to the Landesliga Westfalen . With 41 points and ninth place, the class could be held again immediately. At the end of the 2011/12 season, the team finished second with 56 points, which allowed the team to move up to the Westphalia League. In the now sixth class league the class could be held again immediately and the Roxler finished ninth with 39 points.

Just one season later, however, the steep ascent should be over for the time being. With 28 points you had to be content with 14th place with one point distance to the saving bank and then relegate. Back in the national league, however, with 47 points and fifth place, a decent table placement was achieved. With 59 points and the second place, the participation in a decider for promotion succeeded after the following season. This was then won 1-0 against the second team of SC Verl , which made the recovery perfect. Back in the Westphalia League, the class could then be kept just under 13th place with 34 points. After the 2017/18 season, it went straight back down with just 23 points. Thus, the team still plays in the Landesliga Westfalen to this day.

Handball

A male handball team is currently playing in the Münster 2 district league.

volleyball

In addition to several leisure groups in volleyball , the mixed group Matshats currently plays in the 1st city league and the mixed group volleybears in the 6th city league.
