The Unihockey Club Sparkasse Weißenfels e. V. is a German floorball club from Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . Between 2003 and 2010, the club's men's team won the German championship eight times in a row. In 2018 the club won the 14th championship. This makes the UHC Weißenfels the most successful German floorball club.

In addition to the men's team, the first women's team also plays in the Floorball Bundesliga and was able to win the title in 2011. The second men's team currently plays in the Regionalliga Staffel Ost.

history

In 2000, the men were in the final of the German championship for the first time. Against the Unihockey-Löwen Leipzig they lost 5: 6. Up to and including 2006, there should now be a final between Leipzig and Weißenfels every year. While the lions were still able to win in 2001 and 2002, the players from Weißenfels had the upper hand in the final from 2003 and were able to win the title in 2010 for the eighth time in a row. In the 2010/11 season, the UHC was first in the main round with only one loss. In the playoffs, however, the Weißenfelser failed in the semifinals just below the later runner-up Leipzig.

The women's team was able to win the full field championship title in 2009 in a syndicate with Chemnitz. In 2011 the title was won again, but this time no longer competing in a syndicate. In the same year, the UHC women also won the title on the small field. The title was defended in the following three years.

In 2016 the UHC Weißenfels was the host of the EuroFloorball Cup , the second highest European floorball cup . The UHC women lost in the final against the Swedish club Sveiva IB with 0: 5 while the men’s team won their final 8: 6 against the Latvian club FK Lielvārde . The UHC men were thus qualified for the Champions Cup 2017 , where they lost 4-8 in the quarter-finals against the Czech champion Fat Pipe Florbal Chodov .
