history

The floorball department has its roots in the 1st Floorball Club Berlin, which was founded in 1994 . This club was founded by students from the Free University of Berlin . For practical reasons the 1st Floorball Club Berlin was soon dissolved and its members continued to play floorball at SG BAT.

In the 2010/11 season , the SGBA reached the championship play-offs, but narrowly failed in the semifinals (5-7 and 6-7) at the eventual German champions Red Devils Wernigerode .

Since 2010, the women have formed a syndicate with players from the Berlin gymnastics club , and the team competes in the 1st Bundesliga under the name SG Berlin .

For the 2013/14 season, another small field team was set up with the Berliner FK under the name Floorball Turtles Berlin  . The Turtles were direct champions of the association league Kleinfeld and won the relegation against the Berliner FK. However, since the club was not allowed to rise, the club became independent.

In July 2019 it was announced that the name of the floorball department will be changed from SG BA Tempelhof ( BAT Berlin for short ) to Berlin Rockets . The coat of arms of the Rockets is a launching rocket in the body of which the television tower can be seen.

SG BA Tempelhof

The sports group in the Tempelhof district office is a Berlin sports club from the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district . The group is currently best known for its floorball team, which competes in the 1st Bundesliga . There are further departments for badminton , bowling , cheerleading , ice / inline hockey , gymnastics , handball , chess , swimming , sport fishing , tennis , table tennis and volleyball .
