The Floor Fighters Chemnitz are a floorball club from Chemnitz and play in the top German league, the 1st Floorball Bundesliga (FBL). The Floor Fighters were German runners-up in the 2006/07 season.

history

In the late 1990s, floorball was still called floorball and the sport was new to Germany. The city of Chemnitz's first floorball team was founded in 1998 as a floorball section within SG Adelsberg. The men's team started in the 1999/2000 season in league operations and immediately became champions in the central German regional league small field. The team continued to play successfully and rose to the 1st floorball league in 2002. The section was expanded to include a U19 youth team in 2002 and a women's team in 2004.

The junior division was founded in 2005. By 2007 a U17, U13 and U15 team were formed. In addition, a second men's team was created in 2005. The number of members exceeded 100 in 2007 and in terms of sport, the club's greatest success to date was celebrated by winning the German men's runner-up in the same year. The youngest players are now learning the sport of floorball in the U7 and U9 teams, and first league experience can be gained in the U11 team.

Since 2005, the club has hosted the Chemnitz Cup, one of the largest mixed tournaments in Germany. Every year in June, more than 40 teams from Germany and neighboring countries take part in this tournament. Over the years players from Finland and the Czech Republic have also been signed.

Since January 1st 2010 the club is independent as Floor Fighters Chemnitz eV . The number of members was around 250 children, young people and adults. The women's team won the German championship in 2017. With teams in the age groups U7, U9, U11, U13 (German champion 2015), U15 (German champion 2012, German runner-up 2017) and U17 (German master 2016, German runner-up 2014, 2015) numerous successes were achieved. In addition, the Floor Fighters provide numerous selection and national players in the junior division.

The 10th anniversary of the association was celebrated with a party in summer 2019.
