eoplus price

The eoplauen Prize is an international art prize that has been awarded by the City of Plauen and the eoplauen Society since 1995 in memory of the cartoonist eoplauen . With this award for contemporary caricaturists, the donors also want to contribute “to the promotion of contemporary artistic and graphic creation” (according to self-portrayal).

Named after the draftsman, illustrator and cartoonist Erich Ohser or eoplauen, the award and the sponsorship award are donated and financed by the City of Plauen together with the eoplauen-Gesellschaft e. V. Both prizes are awarded separately every three years. The winners are awarded by a jury of experts.

The eoplauen prize is awarded to draftsmen, illustrators or cartoonists who are still alive and who have distinguished themselves through their artistic oeuvre. The prize consists of a cash prize of 5,000 euros, a small sculpture designed by Plauen artist Johannes Schulze, and a certificate.

The eoplauen sponsorship award is given to artists of the same genre. The age limit includes the thirty-fifth year of life. The eoplauen sponsorship prize consists of a cash prize of 2,500 euros, a small sculpture artistically designed by the Plauen silversmith Mathias Heck, and a certificate.

The awarding of the prizes is accompanied by an exhibition of works by the prize winners in a municipal facility.
