Anna Haifisch (* 1986 in Leipzig ) is a German comic book artist and illustrator .

Life

Anna Haifisch studied illustration at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig until 2011 and was also working as a screen printer in New York City at that time . This was followed by a master class with Thomas M. Müller . In 2013 she and friends founded the comic / illustration festival The Millionaires Club , which takes place parallel to the Leipzig Book Fair . Her webcomic The Artist was published by Vice.com from September 2015 , and her first book Von Spatz was published by Rotopolpress in October . The The Artist episodes appeared in 2016 as an album in reproduction . In that year she received the eoplauen Prize ( advancement award) and in 2018 the Sondermann Prize ( advancement award). Her works have been translated into several languages. In 2020, the New York Museum of Modern Art commissioned her as a comic artist for its series Drawn to MoMA. In 2020 she was awarded the Max and Moritz Prize for "Best German-speaking comic artist".
