The Prix ​​Marcel Duchamp is named after the French conceptual artist Marcel Duchamp (1887–1968), endowed with 35,000 euros and awarded annually since 2000 by the Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l'Art Française (ADIAF) to French or in France living artist is awarded.

The ADIAF is one of the most important associations of lovers, patrons and collectors of contemporary art in France.

The award ceremony is organized and carried out by the Musée d'Art Moderne - Center Georges Pompidou in Paris . The respective artists are selected from a collective of young artists; the winner ( laureate ) is finally awarded by an international jury that changes every year. To be nominated a. visual artists , designers and creators from the fields of sculpture , installation art , photography , video art , painting and multimedia . The winner is invited to present original works from his oeuvre for a period of two months in a special exhibition at the Center Georges Pompidou; the ADIAF is making an additional 30,000 euros available for this. An exhibition catalog dedicated to the award winner and all nominees will be published for the award ceremony.
