Joaquim Macedo de Aguiar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joaquim Macedo de Aguiar (* 1854 ; † 1882 ) was a Portuguese botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Aguiar ".

He was the first to describe the legume from the tribe Dalbergieae Andira araroba . In contrast to Zander, the plant genus Aguiaria does not honor this botanist, but a Brazilian naval officer named Brás Dias de Aguiar (1881–1947), as Adolpho Ducke reports, who re-described this genus.
