Hugo Boss Prize
The Hugo Boss Prize has been awarded every two years since 1996 to another artist (or group of artists) whose oeuvre makes a significant contribution to the development of contemporary visual arts. The prize is awarded by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and sponsored by the Hugo Boss company. It is endowed with 100,000 US dollars.
A jury of curators, critics and humanities scholars is responsible for selecting the artists. You nominate six or seven, from which the winner will be determined a few months later. In 1996 and 1998 the nominees exhibited their work in the now defunct Guggenheim Soho . Since 2000 only the winners have presented their work.
