life and work

Hassan Khan completed his bachelor's degree in 1995 and his master's degree in English and comparative literature at the American University in Cairo in 2004 . Hassan Khan was appointed professor of fine arts at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main .

“Hassan Khan works in an interdisciplinary format, primarily with sound and video, but also in writings, performances, sculptures, installations and photographs. The artist uses a conceptual and formal and at the same time personal and emotional approach. With his investigations into cultural phenomena and the habits of people, places and even things, he is looking for a logic of feeling that connects to a universal language. His art is about understanding and gestures, about concepts of language and art - whereby art itself is understood as a language independent of the medium used. "
