Gottfried Brockmann Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gottfried Brockmann Prize is an art prize that has been awarded every two years since 1985 by the Schleswig-Holstein state capital, Kiel . It is named after the former Kiel cultural advisor and professor at the Muthesius-Werkschule Gottfried Brockmann (1903–1983).

The prize, endowed with 5000 euros, serves to promote visual artists who live and work in the city of Kiel or its catchment area. The award winners must not have reached the age of 35 and should "expect a promising development for the future". An exhibition will be held in the Stadtgalerie Kiel to accompany the award ceremony .
