Hans Molfenter Prize

The Hans-Molfenter-Preis is an art prize of the state capital Stuttgart , which is endowed with 16,000 euros. It is awarded to artists who are “connected to Southwest Germany and who have received recognition through an outstanding artistic work”.

Since 1983, a jury has awarded the prize every two years - since 1995 every three years - which is financed from the estate of the Stuttgart painter Hans Molfenter (1884–1979). Associated with the award ceremony is an exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart .
