Karl Schneider Prize

The Karl Schneider Prize is an art prize from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg . In 1985 this prize was awarded for the first time under the name “Prize for Arts and Crafts . From 1995 it was renamed in honor of the architect Karl Schneider (1892–1945). The award ceremony takes place every two years by a jury and is awarded to artists from the fields of applied art and design .

The art prize, which has existed since 1985, is endowed with a grant of 8,000 euros .

It is not possible for artists to apply themselves.

So far, the prize has also been awarded retrospectively, to Hendrike Farenholtz for 2011 not until the end of 2012 and to Studio Besau-Marguerre for 2015 not until 2017.
