Katja Haß

Katja Haß (* 1968 near Krefeld ) is a German stage designer .

Life

Haß studied stage design and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . After completing her degree, she was Anna Viebrock's assistant at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. From 1996 to 2000 she was a set designer at the State Theater in Stuttgart . She repeatedly worked with the director Stephan Kimmig . From 2000 to 2002 she was the head of equipment and set designer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. At the Thalia Theater Hamburg she designed the sets for, among others, Nora by Henrik Ibsen , Der Bus by Lukas Bärfuss , Penthesilea by Heinrich von Kleist , Maria Stuart by Friedrich von Schiller , Endstation Sehnsucht by Tennessee Williams , Kasimir and Karoline von Ödön von Horváth and Liebe and money from Dennis Kelly . From 2009 to 2011 she was head of equipment and set design at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . At the Deutsches Theater Berlin she designed the sets for oil by Lukas Bärfuss, Kabale und Liebe by Friedrich von Schiller, Children of the Sun by Maxim Gorki , Mourning Must Wear by Eugene O'Neill , Der Kirschgarten by Anton Chekhov , your version of the Play by Yasmina Reza and In times of waning light by Eugen Ruge .

In 1996, 2002, 2003, 2008 and 2010, Haß was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen . In 2007 she received the Karl Schneider Prize . In 2008, she and her husband and director Stephan Kimmig were awarded the 3sat innovation prize.
