Javier Abril Espinoza

Javier Abril Espinoza (* 1967 Honduras ) is a writer, poet and playwright who publishes in Spanish and German. Espinoza lives in Switzerland.

He writes for the Honduran newspaper El Heraldo and various Latin American and Central European literary magazines. For his poetry collection De aquí en adelante ... (span. From now on ... ) he received the Pablo Neruda Prize in 1996 .

His best-known work is the book Un ángel atrapado en el huracán (Spanish, for example an angel caught in a hurricane ), which deals with hurricanes in Central America and the Caribbean. In the book he describes how people live with such natural disasters and criticizes the governments that do not support the people.
