Goethe Prize of the City of Berlin
The Goethe Prize of the City of Berlin (meaning East Berlin ) was donated by the Magistrate of Greater Berlin in 1949 and was last awarded in 1989.
The prize was awarded annually to celebrate Goethe's birthday on August 28th by the Lord Mayor of East Berlin for special achievements in the field of art and science.
