Rolf Schubert (born April 7, 1932 in Gelenau ; † June 21, 2013 in Hohen Neuendorf ) was a German painter .

Life

Rolf Schubert was the son of a master painter. He learned the profession of decorative painter from 1947 to 1949 and worked as a painter's journeyman until 1950. From 1950 to 1953 he studied decorative painting at the College of Applied Arts in Leipzig and from 1953 to 1958 in painting under Kurt Robbel , Bert Heller and Arno Mohr at the University of Fine and Applied Arts Berlin-Weißensee . He completed his diploma with Gabriele Mucci . He then worked as a freelance artist in Berlin until 1963. From 1963 to 1966 Schubert was a master student of Heinrich Ehmsen and Otto Nagel at the Academy of Arts of the GDR . In 1965 he took part in a master class exchange on a study trip to the Soviet Union, especially to the Caucasus. From 1963 to 1983 he worked freelance in Berlin again. Since 1972 he has been frequently on Hiddensee and Rügen in the summer . In 1979 he went on a study trip to Paris, and in 1983 to Spain. From 1976 to 1979 and 1983 to 1993 Schubert had a teaching position in the field of artistic natural studies at the University of Fine and Applied Arts Berlin-Weißensee.
