Núria Quevedo (born March 18, 1938 in Barcelona ) is a German painter and graphic artist of Spanish descent.

Live and act

Núria Quevedo is the daughter of republican emigrants who emigrated to Berlin in 1952 . The subject of exile and the associated feeling of uprooting is one of the main themes in Quevedo.

Núria Quevedo attended the Workers 'and Farmers' Faculty in Berlin from 1955 to 1958 and then studied from 1958 to 1963 at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin-Weißensee in graphics with Arno Mohr , Klaus Wittkugel and Werner Klemke . She has been working as a freelancer since 1963; Numerous book illustrations were created in the 1970s. During her time as a master student under Werner Klemke (1968 to 1971) at the Academy of the Arts in the GDR , she began to approach painting on an autodidactic basis. In 1986 she became a member of the GDR Academy of Arts, from which she left in 1991. From 1994 to 1996 Nuria Quevedo was visiting professor at the Caspar David Friedrich Institute at the University of Greifswald . Since 1997 Núria Quevedo has lived and worked alternately in Berlin and in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Spain / Catalonia).

Nuria Quevedo is the documentary - director Karlheinz Mund married.
