Günter Blendinger (born February 26, 1945 in Meuselwitz ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

During his school days in Meuselwitz, Günter Blendinger attended a circle for artistic folk creation, where the foundations for his later artistic activity were laid. During his training as a mechanical engineer from 1961 to 1963 and as a professional driver in 1966, he also took part in a drawing circle in the Berlin House of Young Talents. He is continuing this commitment at the graphics center Pankow, whose director he became after graduating.

Inspired by his first artistic successes, Günter Blendinger completed an art degree from 1969 to 1974 at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee , specializing in graphics. His teacher there was initially Arno Mohr , later also Werner Klemke and Axel Bertram . He completed his diploma with a series of posters.

After completing his studies, he became a member of the Association of Fine Artists of the GDR in 1974 , section painting and graphics and remained so until the association was dissolved in 1991. Since then he has been working as a freelancer in Berlin and Zepernick .

Study trips took him to Romania , Bulgaria , the Soviet Union , later to France , Spain and repeatedly to Italy to Tuscany .

Quote

“As a teacher at the art college, he calls (...) the precise draftsman and graphic artist Arno Mohr (...) a role model for the draftsman and graphic artist Blendinger, what the accuracy, i.e. the care and accuracy with the Blendinger with the cold needle his landscapes and interiors on the plate - he prints all of his etchings himself to this day - and finally puts them on paper, and sometimes even with multiple prints against the blackness of the line grope for the color to give the leaves atmospheric freshness and depth. The ocher tones, in all nuances and shades, from yellow to dark umber, are his basic colors, which he then interrupts with a tinted blue, a suddenly appearing red, accentuated and thus in turn recognizable as a painter with his characteristic basic color power. He gains his motifs from the visual experience of his landscapes with houses in Zepernick as far as Tuscany, streets, squares, passages with stories of the people who have lived in them and who preserve them against all modernity. Exterior, seen with the view of the interior, one who knows these vistas with curves and gate entrances and holds them for himself and us in the colors of the duration in which we now recognize them.
