Ursula Werner (born September 28, 1943 in Eberswalde ) is a German actress and voice actress .

Life

Ursula Werner grew up in Barnim and in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg . She graduated from the Schliemann High School in Berlin. She learned to be a carpenter in the collective “ Wilma Rudolph ” in Berlin- Adlershof . After studying at the State Drama School in Berlin , now the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art , her first engagements led her to the cabaret Die Distel in Berlin and to the State Theater in Halle an der Saale . In Halle she stepped u. a. as Gretchen with Kurt Böwe as Faust in Goethe's Faust . From 1974 to 2009 Werner was a permanent member of the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. She can still be seen as a guest actress on the Gorky stage. At DEFA , her role as Doctor Unbelief in the film A crazy scent of fresh hay (1977) is particularly remembered.

From 2001 to 2007 she stood in front of the camera as Mrs. Mell in a constant supporting role in the series Schloss Einstein . After a few minor roles in film and television, Ursula Werner played the leading role in Andreas Dresen's Cloud 9 in 2008 . In cloud 9 , she embodied a woman who, in her late 60s, leaves her older husband for an even older man. The aim of the film is to show that love and sex don't just stop when you get older. In 2009 she received the German Film Prize for the best female leading role for this extraordinary achievement .

In 2010 she was awarded the Acting Prize at the Babelsberg Media Awards for her portrayal of Marianne in Philipp Döring's short film At the Other End and honored as “Best Actress” at the GRAND OFF . In 2012 Werner played the leading role in Döring's award-winning short film Nagel zum Sarg .

Ursula Werner was honored with a short film program at the 33rd Max Ophüls Preis film festival from January 16 to 22, 2012 in Saarbrücken. The short film Girls' Evening , in which Werner plays alongside Monika Lennartz , was awarded the “Max Ophüls Short Film Prize 2012”.

The film Halt on an open route , in which Werner took part, received the German Film Prize 2012 for “Best Feature Film in Gold”. In addition, the family film Winter Daughter , in which Ursula Werner can be seen in a leading role, was named “Best Children's Film”.

Ursula Werner starred on ZDF in November 2012 in the “TV film of the week” Mandy wants to go to the sea .

On May 13, 2012, she premiered in the play Du mein Tod in the Münchner Kammerspiele . Ursula Werner could also be seen in Die Bauernben at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the premiere took place on May 4, 2013. The cooperation in Munich continues; From September 27, 2013 Werner played in Explain Me, Life .

From September 19, 2013 Werner appeared in the international cinema production Zwei Leben - nominated as a German Oscar candidate - from October 24, 2013 in the children's film Sputnik and from December 12, 2013 in the German film Sisters in the Cinema.

In 2018 the film Der Junge muss auf den fresh Luft , in which Ursula Werner Hape plays Kerkeling's grandmother Bertha , was released. Ursula Werner received the German Acting Award 2019 in the category of actress in a comedic role .

On September 27, 2019, Mother Courage and her children premiered at the Dresden State Theater. Ursula Werner plays the title role there under the direction of Armin Petras .

Ursula Werner lives in Berlin and has three children.
