Car 3

The Bavarian patrolmen Franz Hubert and Johannes Staller, who are on duty in Wolfratshausen , get caught up in situations from everyday police work that actually lie outside their area of competence. Nevertheless, they manage to clear up the crimes, whereby Hubert observes the service regulations more than Staller, who investigates according to his will. You are driving an older police car of the type Audi 80 , which is called Car 3 , although there is only one vehicle.

In the first few seasons, the local reporter Barbara Hansen was usually involved in the clarification. She does not have too high an opinion of the work of the police and often does further research herself. Hubert and Staller's superior is the choleric police advisor Raimund Girwidz, who is transferred to the police station from Dortmund at the beginning of the television series . He is particularly concerned about his reputation within the locality. He also has difficulties in his private life, especially with his daughter Johanna.

Police chief Martin Riedl also works at the police station, and accidents happen to him again and again.

Other characters are the physician Anja Licht, who was married to Franz Hubert. Sabrina Rattlinger runs a local bakery shop and kiosk up to and including season 6, where the police officers go for a coffee every day. Yazid initially owns a mobile food truck and meets regularly with Staller for a beer in Siggi Baumegger's pub Zum Siggi after work . Starting with the second season (episode 17), Yazid runs a car repair shop called I do everything . The food truck burned down, according to the website (Yazid insurance fraud). In the third season the young journalist Nadine Scholz appears for the local newspaper. In the sixth season, Barbara Hansen returns to Wolfratshausen after the death of her father and takes over Sabrina Rattlinger's shop.

In the first episode of season 7, Police Superintendent Sonja Wirth was replaced by Police Superintendent Lena Winter.

After Karin Thaler resigned as a pathologist in June 2017, Dr. Anja Licht made it public, it was announced at the ARD media reading 2017 in October that one of the two title characters, Johannes Staller, will also be eliminated after the 7th season. Staller's exit was implemented with a full-length episode. Helmfried von Lüttichau, the Staller actor, announced in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung that his last day of shooting was very emotional for him and that there might still be a back door for a comeback of his role. As a reason for leaving, he stated that he wanted to spend more time with his family again, get out of the “series cage” and devote himself to new film projects.

Helmfried von Lüttichau ended his leading role in the Christmas special A beautiful gift .

background

Christian Tramitz and Helmfried von Lüttichau gradually expanded their roles, which developed from the Land-der-Berge -ketchen in the TV series Tramitz and Friends , into the characters Hubert and Staller , who were then taken over by ARD seven years later .

production

The series is produced by the Tele München Gruppe and the Entertainment Factory on behalf of ARD-Werbung , Bayerischer Rundfunk and Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk for Das Erste.

Hubert and Staller's old territory
Demolition of the old district

The episodes are shot in the Wolfratshausen area. Until the first part of the ninth season, an empty office building in Sauerlacher Strasse 25a in Wolfratshausen served as the police station. In addition to the premises of the police station, there were also those of the pathology department, as well as masks , costumes and props . Yazid's workshop I do everything was in the large garage belonging to the office building.

Café Graf at Hauptstrasse 15 in the Ammerland district of Münsing serves as the backdrop for Café Rattlinger .

Hubert und Staller is one of several early evening series that started in 2011 under the brand Heiter bis födlich in the first. As the first of these series, it was extended in February 2012 by a second season with 16 episodes, the production of which began in March 2012. At the start of the third season, a 90-minute long film was broadcast on the first on November 7th, 2013 under the title Die ins zum Gras . The fourth season of Hubert and Staller was filmed from February to November 2014. The first eight episodes were broadcast from March 4, 2015 to May 6, 2015, and the last eight from October 16, 2015 to December 16, 2015 in the first. Since then, the series has its permanent slot on Wednesday at 6:50 p.m.

Since the beginning of 2016, the broadcast format Heiter bis tödlich no longer exists, and since then the series has only run under the name Hubert und Staller ; in Austria it always ran under this name, albeit in the spelling Hubert & Staller .

From January 20 to May 11, 2016, the first broadcast of the fifth season, which started with the television film Unter Wölfen , ran on the first . Filming for the sixth season (episodes 85 to 100) began on May 17, 2016 and lasted until January 27, 2017. The first episode aired on March 22, 2017. Filming for the seventh season (16 new episodes) began on February 20, 2017 and lasted until October 28, 2017.

In Austria, the station ATV has been showing the series since November 6, 2011. The station also showed the episodes of the second and third season a few days after the first broadcast on the first.

The filming of the 90-minute Christmas special " A beautiful Christmas present" began on December 10, 2017 and lasted until February 6, 2018. The feature film was broadcast on December 19, 2018 on Das Erste.

Due to the high ratings of the first episodes of the 8th season, there will be a 9th season “Hubert without Staller”.

The area was demolished in 2020 for new construction work. The series will be continued in a new area in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

Hubert without a stallion

Filming on eight new episodes (141-148) began on February 25, 2020 and was originally scheduled to be completed in May 2020. However, they were interrupted on March 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic , resumed from May 2020 and ended at the end of June.
