Francis Fulton-Smith (born April 25, 1966 in Munich ) is a British - German actor .

Life

Fulton-Smith's mother was a German foreign language correspondent , his father a British jazz musician who later worked as a translator .

He grew up bilingual. In 1986 he passed the Abitur at the Camerloher-Gymnasium Freising . He completed his training as an actor at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Since September 24, 2004 he was married to the actress Verena Klein . You have two daughters (* 2009, * 2012) and live in Munich . At the end of April 2017, they publicly announced their separation. The divorce followed in April 2018.

Fulton-Smith is the child sponsor for World Vision Germany . Together with his ex-wife, he worked as a special ambassador for SOS Children's Villages .

After appearing mainly in light entertainment films, he played the former Bavarian Prime Minister Franz Josef Strauss in Die Spiegel-Affäre in 2014 and gained 20 kg under medical supervision. On November 13, 2014, he was awarded a Bambi for this role .

In June 2015, during the filming of The Athens Crime , it was announced that Fulton-Smith was also working as a producer for the first time with his production company Little Door Films , which he founded in 2012. On April 17, 2019, the production company was changed to Dragonbird Films GmbH in the commercial register .

On December 18, 2016, Fulton-Smith assumed German citizenship .

On September 8, 2017, Ullstein Verlag published Fulton-Smith's book Loving se Germans , in which he describes how, as a half-Brit, he experiences the difference between Germans and English.
