His life is pretty quiet until one day the successful manager Carla Schneider appears. When the people from Kölleda learn of Carla's intentions, they want to save the existence of many people and forge a plan. Simon should get to Carla. But only after a turbulent time for everyone involved does Carla realize how important the mill is for the lives of the people here and how much she has to defend it against the cool corporate interests, which she succeeds in the end.

Reviews

"Conventional (TV) love story from the German provinces."

“If you disregard the stirring elements, lovable characters and a touch of self-irony make the predictable fluctuation quite bearable. [...] Fancy going to the country? The film about the trend ... "

“For God's sake - Janina Hartwig as a tough manager? Of course, it doesn't take long before the down-to-earth Simon with Peppermint becomes her prince and the whole story follows the usual twists and turns of the genre. Including an appeal to all malochers to just try to be independent. Industrial action and class consciousness are of course different. There is an extra point, however, for little Lucy Ella von Scheele as Simon's daughter Ronja and her courage for the skilfully wrong interpretation of the classic "Que sera, sera" that was ever heard! "

“Liquidation of a Thuringian spice town with the initiation of new love [sic!]. “Willkommen in Kölleda” uses common comedy patterns, but does it so nicely and with so many loving side stories that one only wishes well to Kölleda, Janina Hartwig and Francis Fulton-Smith. Fresh camera, atmospheric songs! "
