Jana Brandt
Jana Brandt (born January 24, 1965 in Potsdam - Babelsberg ) is a German journalist, television editor and producer.
Life
Brandt, daughter of DEFA director Horst E. Brandt , began her professional career in 1983 with East German television in Berlin-Adlershof . From 1984 to 1988 she studied journalism at the University of Leipzig . During her studies she worked as a freelance writer for several film and television magazines. From 1988 to 1991 she worked as an editor in the feature film department of the GDR / DFF television.
From 1991 she worked in the Degeto / ARD film editorial team in Frankfurt am Main . Here she was responsible for the selection, broadcasting and support of feature films, television films and series in the first. She also oversaw numerous fictional in-house productions. In addition, from 1996 she was head of the "TV Product and Projects" division. She was responsible for buyout productions, commissioned productions and international co-productions.
In 1999 Brandt moved to mdr in Leipzig , where she has been the main editor-in-chief for feature films, series and children. Since 1999 she has also been a member of the joint editorial series in the main evening program of the ARD , which she has been leading since 2014. For years she has been responsible for the overall direction of the series “In all friendship”, “In all friendship - The young doctors” and “In all friendship - The nurses”.
