A Saufang is an animal trap for catching hunting of wild boar . This is a case provided with door trigger mechanism including gate, in which the boars (hunter linguistically means Lockfütterung feeding place ) are curled, in order to subsequently captured therein and to kill. In order to maximize the capture success and all the Rotten to catch the wild is possible for a while repeatedly visit the feeding place in Saufang unmolested before the closing mechanism is triggered. While the trap had to be triggered manually on site in the past (see figure opposite), today variants with radio remote control of the trap door and video monitoring of the inside of the gate are in use.

Germany

The use of booze in Germany requires an exemption under hunting law . The Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry rates trapping with boar traps as an animal welfare and humane measure that can reduce wild boar populations with a high degree of efficiency.

The Bavarian Forest National Park uses eight stationary and other mobile booze in the outskirts of the park. There were pilot projects with booze in the Schliersee forestry company and in the Baden-Baden city forest .
