background

The offshoot is produced by Saxonia Media Filmproduktion on behalf of ARD . The series started on January 22, 2015. Initially, a first season with 42 episodes was planned, which has been produced since the end of 2014. The shooting for In allerfreund - The young doctors takes place in studios A and D of the “ Studiopark KinderMedienZentrum ” in Erfurt .

The new storyline about the Johannes-Thal-Klinikum was introduced in a backdoor pilot episode of the mother series In All Friendship . In episode 668 ( with a bang ) the administrative director and future clinic director of the Leipzig Saxony Clinic Sarah Marquardt ( Alexa Maria Surholt ) together with chief secretary Barbara Grigoleit ( Uta Schorn ) visit the commercial director of the Johannes Thal Clinic, Wolfgang Berger .

In episodes 671 ( old and new friendships ) and 672 ( future music ) of the mother series there are again crossovers . Robert Giggenbach takes on the role of Dr. Harald Loosen . He supports his protégé Dr. Niklas Ahrend in a difficult situation and offers him a position as senior physician in the Erfurt hospital.

Crossover

In all friendship - The young doctors share a series universe with the mother series In all friendship as well as Schloss Einstein , Marienhof , veterinarian Dr. Mertens , cheerful to fatal: Nudes Ex , Lindenstrasse and Verbotene Liebe , with which the mother series already had crossover episodes.

Johannes Thal Clinic and Volkmann Clinic

In episode 160 ( aftermath ), Arzu Ritter ( Arzu Bazman ) visits Dr. Niklas Ahrend to talk to him about their son Max. She mentions that she has accepted a new position as a lecturer at the Volkmann Clinic. Dr. Elias Bähr's cousin Fiete Petersen ( Adrian R. Gössel ) takes Elias' mother to the hospital because she has heart problems again. Fiete is not doing well either, he keeps having dizzy spells. But it turns out that there are psychological problems because he does not want to work as a fisherman for his father. This introduced the new storyline of the spin-off In all friendship - The nurses in a backdoor pilot.

In episode 161 ( Appeal ) Louisa Neukamm ( Llewellyn Reichman ) and Jasmin Hatem ( Leslie-Vanessa Lill ) are innocently involved in a car accident. You save the life of the person who caused the accident and then go to the Johannes Thal Clinic yourself because Jasmin was injured too. Since she needs an operation, Dr. Realizing that she has to stay longer. But the two women should be in Halle the next day to start training as a nurse at the Volkmann Clinic. Thanks to the mediation of Dr. Bähr you can carry out the necessary health check at the JTK. Fiete Petersen has meanwhile started an internship as a caretaker at the JTK and helps wherever he can. When he meets Louisa and Jasmin, he changes his mind and now also wants to become a nurse in Halle, but the registration deadline has expired. Dr. Ahrend and Elias Bähr contacted Arzu Ritter to ask if she could still include Fiete in this year's training.

Reviews

Manuel Weis fromquotemeter.de drew a positive conclusion compared to the series previously broadcast on the slot from the Heiter-bis-födlich series.

“The fact that ARD tried the hospital series genre the night before and made use of the success of the Saxony Clinic and the great know-how of the makers is consistent and correct. Whether the experiment, of which a whopping 42 episodes were ordered, also works is another matter. In any case, in terms of quality, the young doctors around Roy Peter Link are clearly superior to the village thrillers usually shown at 6:50 pm. "

- Manuel Weis atquotemeter.de

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv mainly criticized the strong soap character of the series, the acting skills of some of the leading actors and a lack of medical factor in the hospital series.

Rtv praised the attempt to create a modern format, but criticized the fact that this attempt did not succeed.

"It is noticeable [...] that the ARD series was obviously inspired by the look, parts of the figure drawing and the title song of the American doctor series ' Scrubs - The Beginners ' - unfortunately without the brilliant balancing act between comedy and drama."
