action

Dr. Roland Heilmann, chief physician of Surgery at the Leipzig Sachsenklinik , visited with his family to Leipzig Zoo to attend to an animal sponsor celebration. The Weller family has taken on the sponsorship of a baby puma . On the fringes of this celebration, the Heilmanns meet the zoo veterinarian Dr. Susanne Mertens, who wishes you a nice day at the zoo. However, Dr. Heilmann, who had to carry out a lengthy emergency operation during his previous night shift, received a phone call shortly afterwards: There seems to be complications with a patient. The chief doctor then makes his way to the clinic, but has to avoid an inattentive pedestrian at a traffic light while driving there. While the doctor can still maneuver his car past, the Weller family car driving behind him crashes into the head doctor's car and is thrown off a bridge. The father succumbs to his injuries at the scene of the accident; the mother, Stefanie Weller, is brought to the Saxony clinic with serious injuries.

Dr. Heilmann, who was also supported by his colleague and friend Dr. Martin Stein could not be dissuaded from leading Stefanie Weller's emergency operation, collapsed in the operating room . Dr. Stein has to stop the operation so as not to endanger the mother's life and senior physician Dr. Kathrin Globisch puts her in an artificial coma . At the same time, ward doctor Dr. Philipp Brentano and attending physician Dr. Rolf Kaminski Tim, the son of the Wellers. He is only slightly injured, but appears to be severely traumatized and suffering from retrograde amnesia .

The public prosecutor's office initiates investigations against the chief physician, who blames himself: Tim Weller could become an orphan because an operation on his mother would lead to serious complications. Clinic director Prof. Dr. Simoni steps in, pulls his guilty chief doctor away from the operating room and suggests that he take a few days off. Since none of the witnesses heard Dr. Heilmann can confirm the course of the accident described, the public prosecutor assumes that the doctor was overtired after the long night shift. He is facing charges; there is speculation in the press about the background to the accident. Dr. Heilmann visits Tim Weller's grandmother Sandra Weller. She had not had any contact with her son for several years and did not even know that she had a grandson.

Meanwhile, senior physician Dr. Martin Stein freshly in love: he enjoys his happiness with Julia Benning, an event manager and winner of the Leipzig Innovation Prize. What the senior doctor has no idea: his new girlfriend was the inattentive pedestrian who caused the accident. When she learns from Martin Stein how big the accident was, she decides to surrender. However, she is held off by her friend Bianca Schürer, who shows her the effects of her actions on her career. She could write off her position as head of city marketing after such a confession.

Tim Weller suddenly disappears from the clinic. The clinic staff suspect that he would like to see his parents. Since the doctors had so far not told him what happened and the boy suffers from amnesia, he does not know what situation he really is in. While Ingrid Rischke and Hans-Peter Brenner are looking in the Wellers' apartment, Dr. Heilmann in the zoo after little Tim. He meets the zoo veterinarian Dr. Susanne Mertens. During a conversation, the two doctors came up with the idea of animal-assisted therapy to overcome Tim's amnesia. But the situation soon changes: Ingrid Rischke and Hans-Peter Brenner have found Tim and are on their way back to the clinic with him. When they unexpectedly have to brake because of a pedestrian, Tim's memory suddenly comes back; however, after a panic attack he stops talking.

As senior physician Dr. Kathrin Globisch then tells her chief doctor about a painted picture of her daughter, who was staying with her kindergarten group near the scene of the accident, the chief doctor is certain that he was distracted by a balloon. He asks his senior physician, Dr. Martin Stein to represent him until further notice and Prof. Dr. Simoni about his suspension. However, the latter decides to only give his chief doctor a leave of absence.

At the same time, Pia Heilmann makes her way to Sandra Weller. She feels reminded of the time after Christina Buchmann's death: at that time she had found out about Lisa, Roland and Christina's illegitimate child. Now Pia Tim's grandmother wants to talk into conscience so that she can take care of the boy. While Dr. Heilmann met the boy together with Dr. Stein to Dr. Mertens to the zoo, the wife of the head doctor manages to convince the grandmother that she will look after her grandson. With this, in turn, the animal-assisted therapy worked and he was talking to the people around him again.

A little later, Stefanie Weller wakes up from the coma and Dr. Roland Heilmann is about to change his statement about the course of events. However, when he and his family attended the balloon festival, which was organized by Julia Bennig, everything changed again. Tim Weller and his grandmother are also present and after Julia Benning sees the boy, she decides to call Dr. Heilmann telling the truth. Suddenly, little Tim also remembers a crucial feature: He recognizes Julia Benning's bag, which contains several balloons as a motif, as the bag of the pedestrian from the accident. While Julia Benning wants to make her way to the police, Dr. Martin Stein talks about his girlfriend's secret and the two finally separate.

In the final scene you can see Pia and Dr. Roland Heilmann go on a balloon ride together.

reception

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach ( tittelbach.tv ) drew a consistently negative conclusion on the series special in his review of the 90-minute inflated "In-all-friendship" special without added value and understood it as "conceptually and dramatically completely unsuccessful". He criticized that "[e] in an ensemble with well over 20 members [...] for the dramaturgy of a 90-minute film [too big]", the "so-called 'braid dramaturgy" "is not a film, but exclusively an" endless format “Passe and“ emotions [...] are not drawn across the film in large arcs, but rather established scene by scene ”. Tittelbach also noted that although all the characters are coincidentally related to one another, "this dramaturgical setting [k] has a correspondence in its cinematic appearance". The main point of criticism of Tittelbach is that the content of a normal In all Friendship episode, in his opinion, was simply pressed into a feature film format.

“What cannot be verbalized does not exist in this story. The dialogues are at the heart of “In all friendship”. Presented in the overemphasized gesture of third-class amateur stage actors, they are at the same time the nail in the coffin of this highly embarrassing banal revue, which has no added value compared to a series episode. Isabell Gerschke, Rebecca Immanuel and Elisabeth Lanz bring at least a touch of Degeto mediocrity into play and the outdoor scenes, above all the passably staged accident scene, optically meet at least series standards. The rest is just underground. "
