René Hofschneider

René Hofschneider (* 1960 in Detmold ) is a German actor .

Life

Hofschneider grew up with his two brothers in Berlin . His brother Marco Hofschneider also became an actor.

Hofschneider appeared as an extra and supporting actor from 1977 to 1982 at the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin under the directorship of Hans Lietzau and Boy Gobert . In 1984 he was engaged by the director Hans Neuenfels as the count's son Ottokar for the film adaptation of the tragedy The Schroffenstein family by Heinrich von Kleist .

Hofschneider then began his training (1984/1985) at the Salzburg Mozarteum . Various theater engagements followed after drama school. He played at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen (1985), at the Alten Schauspielhaus Stuttgart (1985), at the Zimmertheater Heidelberg (1985–1986) and at the Schauspiel Marburg (1986). From 1987 to 1990 he played at the Grips Theater in Berlin. With the musical Line 1 , which premiered there , he made tours, including to New York City , Australia and Jerusalem . He intensified his acting training through several years of seminars at the Moscow Drama School GITIS , where he had lessons in the master class of Yuri Alschitz .

He made his cinema debut in 1990, alongside his brother Marco, under the direction of Agnieszka Holland in the role of the Jewish shoe seller's son Isaak Perel, the brother of the male title role, in the film Hitler Youth Salomon .

From the beginning of the 1990s, his career on German television began . In 1993 he reinterpreted the work of a housekeeper in the series A Job for Life . Hofschneider took on other continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and guest roles. He was often used in crime series, including leading episode roles in Wolffs Revier , Edel & Starck , Doppelter Einsatz , Wilsberg and SOKO Wismar . In 2002 he played the swimming instructor Bertram Nock, popular with his students, in the Tatort television film Schrott und Mansschlag, who discovered his sexual inclination for young girls in contact with the daughter of his new partner. In 2003, he starred in the hospital series In All Friendship as the father of a daughter suffering from leukemia, also in a leading role in the episode. From 2007 to 2010 Hofschneider also had a continuous role in the ZDF television series Our Farm in Ireland . It played the role of Dr. Flanders.

Since 2008 Hofschneider has been playing theater regularly again, in particular he has appeared in tabloid comedies . He performed at the Comedy Düsseldorf , the Theater am Kurfürstendamm , the Comedy Dresden and also went on tour . In 2008 he played together with Matthias Freihof and Christina Rainer at the Comedy Düsseldorf as Jean-Luc in the comedy Venice in the Snow by Gilles Dyrek ; with this piece he went on tour in 2009 and 2010. Since 2008, Hofschneider, directed by Matthias Freihof, has repeatedly appeared on stage as Siggi Polle's mother's son in the popular comedy Ganz Kerle by the successful Canadian author Kerry Renard (2008–2010 Comedy Düsseldorf, 2008 Theater am Kurfürstendamm, 2009 Comedy Dresden ). In it he played the employee of a parcel service who, together with his work colleagues, put on a travesty show in order to make money. His partners in this piece were Jo Weil , Matthias Kostya , Jens Eulenberger (in Berlin) and Lutz Reichert , among others .

Hofschneider lives in Berlin.
