At the Berlin Kreuzberg Clinic, Professor Kesselhoff is the lead doctor, Dr. Mariella Winkler is his senior physician. They will be assigned five young doctors doing internships: Martin Richter, Sybille Alberich, Christian Mannhardt, Gottfried Schnabel and Ellen Kolb. Until all five are accepted as interns, they have to survive a difficult apprenticeship. They are confronted with the tough everyday clinical routine and the daily struggle for the lives of their patients. In addition to professional success, the young doctors also have their private goals. The desire for new things, love and relationship problems are not neglected in the 26 episodes.
