Ulrich Wiggers

Ulrich Wiggers (born May 17, 1955 in Oldenburg ) is a German actor and director .

Ulrich Wiggers completed his acting training at the Folkwang University in Essen and was able to establish himself as a theater and film actor in the following years. His theater engagements have taken him to numerous renowned German-speaking theaters, including a. to the Theater an der Wien , the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Theater des Westens . Wiggers was part of the international ensemble of the musical Mamma Mia! .

For several years he has been staging regularly at various venues, including a. The Buddenbrooks , The Three from the Gas Station , The Death of a Salesman , A Midsummer Night's Dream , Bunbury , A Matter of Honor , Arsenic and Lace, as well as the musicals The Man of La Mancha , Into the Woods , Cabaret , Hello, Dolly! and Irma la Douce .

At the Kehrwieder-Theater Hamburg he directed the Musical Company , on the Altusried open-air stage with My Fair Lady . At the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg he staged the musical Der Schuh des Manitu in 2013 with great success , for the Magdeburg Theater as Domplatz-Open-Air 2014 Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show , for the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam he took over the direction for La Cage aux Folles . In 2015 he directed the musical Zorro with the music of the Gipsy Kings on the open-air stage Tecklenburg, where he also staged the musical Artus in 2016 . Shrek followed in 2017 at the same location .

At the St. Gallen Theater, Wiggers took on the direction of the play Anna Karenina and, in 2017, the first new production - after 20 years - of the musical Tanz der Vampire . In 2018 he realized a new production of the musical Les Misérables at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg, where he also directed the musical Doktor Schiwago in 2019 .
