Michael Baier

Michael Baier (born December 17, 1940 in Baden-Baden , † June 17, 2019 in Pittsfield , Massachusetts ) was a German screenwriter . He invented several successful television series, including The Legacy of the Guldenburgs , Adelheid and their Murderers, and For Heaven's Sake .

Life

Michael Baier attended the St. Paulusheim boarding school in Bruchsal, run by Pallottines . After graduating from high school, he studied theater, German and philosophy in Cologne and Munich and film at the Ulm School of Design . Baier initially worked as a copywriter in Germany. In 1980 he emigrated to the United States and settled in Boston , New England . He began writing screenplays in the mid-1980s.

Baier died in June 2019 at the age of 78 after a long illness.
