1st season

The unmarried and childless Prince Friedrich von Thorwald, head of the noble family of the same name and lord of a large economic empire, is dying. However, he wants to prevent his unloved sister, Princess Beate, from inheriting him, and therefore, according to the family statutes, needs a male descendant who will later take over the Thorwald's business. The prince has his good friend and advisor Dr. Ulrich Gesswein was therefore asked to look around for a suitable woman who could give birth to his heir. Gesswein then presents photos of some women to Friedrich and the prince decides in favor of the apparently bourgeois Ursula Kaminski. It is located at that time in custody because they had tried in the house of a banker break, which she had taken for her father. Dr. Gesswein hires the detective Paul Danner, who, with the help of a lawyer and a large sum of money, is supposed to ensure that the young Ursula can leave the prison again. After Danner has promised her that she should find out who her birth parents are, she agrees to the conditions initially set. However, when she is informed a little later that her consideration consists of bearing a princely descendant, she wants to meet the prince personally beforehand. The meeting taking place in the castle and all other activities in the prince's premises are secretly observed by his nephew Benjamin through a few cameras. But Beate also soon suspects that her brother is up to something. In order to bring about his death, she lets her fencing teacher and lover Dr. Jennewein get an ineffective drug for which she exchanges the prince's insulin . She is being watched by her son Benjamin. Ursula has meanwhile decided to become the mother of Friedrich's child. In a clinic she is artificially fertilized. During a visit to the Prince Ulrich Gesswein discovers the counterfeit insulin ampoules and sends them to a laboratory . It turns out that it contained a saline solution. Gesswein learns from Benjamin that Beate is behind this attack.
In the meantime Jennewein has bribed Danner's assistant and thus obtained documents about Ursula Kaminski, in which Beate reads that Count Lichtenthal is Ursula's father. Now between Beate on the one hand and the prince with Dr. Gesswein, on the other hand, had a bitter struggle. In the course of this, Danner's assistant manipulates the car of Ursula's best friend Jutta, so that an accident occurs. Jutta dies, while Ursula survives, slightly injured. The detective Danner then swapped the women's handbags and it was reported that Ursula was the victim. From now on only Danner knows where Ursula is. A short time later, an investigation shows that the prince will have a son. He and Ursula marry in secret. After the ceremony, Benjamin follows Danner's car and finds out where Ursula is being taken. A setback for him, however, is that his mother Beate finds out that he has installed a monitoring system in the castle. She takes care of their removal and thus also destroys the recordings of the drug exchange with which Gesswein had put her under pressure. As a result, she does everything she can to seize power in the company, but soon realizes that Ursula is determined to stand up to her. A little later, Danner goes into hiding with Ursula in Austria , but Beate has made sure that her son-in-law Gernot, who is dependent on her favor, follows in their footsteps. At the last moment, however, he shrinks from killing Ursula.
2nd season
Prince Friedrich celebrates his birthday in a good mood. This fact arouses Beates suspicion, because after all , she believes that she caused the death of his wife Ursula. In fact, she is staying with Countess Laura von Boronski in the princely city palace, isolated from the outside world. The expectant mother should stay there until the birth . She is guarded by the former police officer Leo Bachschuster. But not even he can prevent the cheerful princess from leaving the palace carelessly. She observes Beates assistant Söhnlein, who takes a few photos, but is discovered by Ursula. She then runs into a car and remains unconscious. Beate immediately has her sister-in-law brought to Professor Oberndorf's clinic and forces him to let Ursula's child disappear. The parents are then informed that their son died in the recent accident. Ursula cannot believe this and asks Leo to clarify the circumstances of her accident. He manages to find out that a nurse from the clinic recently took a leave of absence. Little Nicolai can be freed just in time and return to his mother. Said nurse still flies to Brazil - but without the child - to lull Beate and Professor Oberndorf to safety. Even Friedrich does not find out that his son is alive. That is why he now wants to appoint Ursula as his sole heir. When she withdraws more and more from him, he promises her to bring her to her birth mother in Great Britain . In the meantime, Beate throws Gernot out of the company because he couldn't manage to kill Ursula. After all her defeats, Beate is close to desperation and so she admits to Friedrich that she is responsible for all the terrible events of the last time. He uses the opportunity and drives his sister out of the castle into the city palace. Laura has to move in with Ursula, Friedrich and Nicolai. Ursula has meanwhile agreed to take on responsibility in the holding company . But on her first day at work, Friedrich has to stay in bed and only Dr. Gesswein is at her side. On this day she meets Robert Castrop for the first time, an employee of the holding company who wants to become director of banking and investment. Beate takes advantage of this to try once again to force Ursula out of the company. She instructs Castrop to meet Ursula privately and to start a relationship with her. In fact, a conversation about the holding's farms ends in Castrop's apartment, where little son has prepared everything for a romantic dinner and installed a few bedbugs on the side. Leo has also left the princess after she had put herself in danger through her liaison with Castrop. Now Ursula brings him back so that he can find Friedrich, who has not told her his whereabouts.
