Arthur Brauss

Arthur Brauss (born July 24, 1936 in Augsburg ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Arthur Brauss is the son of a master gardener. In his youth he was a talented pole vaulter and was German youth champion in 1954. In the same year he made his Abitur at a grammar school in Augsburg. After a commercial apprenticeship in a factory Construction Brauss received from the University of Wyoming ( United States ) a scholarship and studied mathematics and economics there. At the student stage there, he also discovered his interest in acting.

In 1960 he returned to Germany and initially worked at Infratest and Radio Free Europe . In 1963 he made his cinema debut in the film Delay in Marienborn (under the name "Art Brauss") under the direction of Rolf Hädrich . In the ZDF children's series Timm Thaler (1979) Arthur Brauss appeared as first officer on a ship (also known as "Art Brauss").

He became known nationwide as police officer Richard Block in Jürgen Roland's television series Großstadtrevier . In addition to his international work, Brauss played various roles, including nine Tatort - and ten episodes of Der Alte . He had guest appearances in Café Perjury , Munich Stories , Das Kriminalmuseum , Siska , Aufachse , Wolffs Revier , A Case for TKKG , Derrick , A Case for Two , Police Inspection 1 , Kottan , Der Kommissar , Balko , Polizeiruf 110 , SOKO 5113 and The Public Prosecutor .

Arthur Brauss has now largely withdrawn from German television and mainly works in the theater. In 2009 he took on the role of Götz von Berlichingen at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival . He is married to Marie Poccolin and has lived in the Schwabing district of Munich for over 40 years .
